PremiumBrands · A founder’s perspective

The Story Behind the Site

Why BeSomeone.com is part of PremiumBrands, and the thinking behind building a recognizable online business.

PremiumBrands.com is where I offer selected domains as starting points for new businesses and stronger online identities. I’m its founder, Michael Santiago. BeSomeone.com belongs here because it brings the conversation back to people: the work they do, the ideas they put into the world and the businesses they want others to recognize. My interest is in what a capable founder could build around that address.

A name can give a project a useful centre before the product has become complicated. It gives people something to say in an introduction and a place to return after they have heard about the business. That does not remove the need for a clear offer or good execution. It helps organize those things under an identity that can become familiar through real use.

My experience with Newswire.com

I acquired i-Newswire.com in 2007 and upgraded the business to Newswire.com in 2015. The direct Newswire.com name is an example of the category names that interest me. It is part of why I pay attention to the relationship between a company's work and the address people use to find it. A domain decision becomes meaningful in that wider operating context.

The business I helped build was sold to Issuer Direct in 2022 for approximately $44 million. The acquisition announcement filed with the SEC describes the business transaction. Issuer Direct’s original Form 8-K reported a total transaction value of $43.9 million. That figure was a business acquisition, not the sale price of a domain or a measure of what another address should cost. The distinction matters when talking about names and the companies built around them.

My work today includes PremiumBrands and OnlineBusiness.com, the supporting strategy and development studio. The thread between them is practical: choose a useful direction, make the offer understandable and give the business a credible online home. The address is one decision among many, but it is a decision that can appear across customer conversations, publishing, marketing and day-to-day operations.

Building is easier to begin; recognition still takes work

AI makes it possible for more people to explore an idea, draft content and assemble a working prototype. I see that as an opportunity for founders who can identify a real customer problem and make thoughtful decisions about it. The first version may arrive faster, which makes it even more important to ask what will give someone a reason to choose the business and come back.

My view is that brand, effective marketing and customer relationships can become harder to copy than the visible features of an early product. That is an outlook on building, not a guarantee about any market. A customer may see several plausible options. Clear positioning, useful proof and dependable service can help a business become the one they recognize and trust over time.

A suitable domain supports that work by giving the identity a consistent address. It cannot manufacture trust, replace a capable team or compensate for an offer that misses the customer need. I prefer to think about a name alongside the ordinary customer journey: hearing about the business, looking it up, understanding what it offers and finding it again when the need returns.

Why this particular phrase interests me

BeSomeone.com has a personal quality that suits businesses in which individual contribution matters. That gives it a different starting point from a narrow category name. A founder would need to decide what the phrase means in the context of the offer and make that choice clear. A focused service or product could give the wider expression a concrete role.

What interests me is the possibility of putting good work behind that identity. A brand centred on people needs more than aspirational language. It needs accurate claims, visible capability and a respectful relationship with its audience. The directions elsewhere on this site are prompts for that thinking. They are illustrative concepts, rather than businesses I am claiming already exist under this domain.

Ask about the domain

The domain is available through PremiumBrands.com. An acquisition conversation can establish the scope, terms and transfer arrangements; a partnership proposal should explain the business and the contribution being proposed. Unless separately agreed, the offering covers the domain itself. The buyer would bring the product, relationships and ongoing operating work.

If BeSomeone.com fits something you intend to build, tell me about the project. A short explanation of the audience and first offer is a useful place to begin. The point is to connect a suitable name with a founder who has a clear reason to use it, then let the work of building the business give that identity its substance.
